An introduction

Where craft meets
brilliance.

Enviro Floors is your trusted expert in timber floor polishing across Brisbane. We specialise in floor sanding and polishing using non-toxic, sustainable coatings - enhancing the beauty and longevity of your timber while protecting the well-being of your family.

Wooden floors are easier to clean than carpet, but they need the right products. Our process pairs thorough cleaning with our non-toxic polyurethane to revive dull, worn-out floors and bring back their lustre.

Polishing your wooden floors periodically helps protect the beauty of the original boards for generations.
Benefits of Polishing

Why polish your
timber floors?

  • i.

    Restores Natural Beauty

Polishing brings out the rich tones and grain patterns of the timber, adding elegance to your space.

  • ii.

    Increases Longevity

Protective coatings shield the timber from scratches, moisture and UV rays, prolonging its life.

  • iii.

    Improves Hygiene

A polished surface is easier to clean and resists the accumulation of dirt and allergens.

  • iv.

    Enhances Property Value

Well-maintained timber floors add value to your property, making them an excellent investment.

Three finishes

Matt, satin, gloss -
your call.

Each finish has its own character. The same timber, three different ways the light meets it. Hover any tile to feel the difference.

- Finish 01

Matt

A subtle, natural look. Reflects little light. Ideal for rustic and minimalist interiors where the timber should whisper, not shout.

Satin

The everyday favourite. A soft, even sheen that complements both traditional and modern spaces - durable, forgiving, and beautiful in any light.

Gloss

A reflective, mirror-like surface. Perfect for formal or high-end settings - amplifies natural light and creates real visual depth.

When to polish

Common signs your floors
need polishing.

Timber floors lose their sheen over time. Look for these signals - and if more than one applies, it's probably time for a refresh.

  • Dull finishes that no longer reflect light The boards look flat under sun or lamps where they used to glow.
  • Visible scratches or scuffs from daily use Especially in walkways, around dining chairs, or near doors.
  • Uneven surfaces from wear or minor damage You can feel rough patches with bare feet or a broom.
  • Discolouration or water stains Tide-marks, dark patches, or sun-faded zones near windows.
  • Areas where the protective coating has worn off Bare timber visible - at this point, polish soon to avoid deeper damage.
The Build-Up

Three coats.
One luminous finish.

Watch how the coats build. A primer, then two coats of water-based polyurethane - each applied carefully, each adding depth, protection, and shine.

01

Sealer / Primer

Soaks into the grain, seals the timber, and primes the surface for adhesion.

02

First Coat

Water-based polyurethane builds up protection. Lightly buffed before next coat.

03

Final Coat

The finish you'll see and walk on for a decade or more - matt, satin or gloss.

Our Process

01

Talk & Plan

Agree on goals, finish, access, and timings.

We listen to how you use the space and the aesthetic you want. We'll confirm finish type, colour/tint, slip requirements, and your timeline. We explain our dust-control methods and provide a clear window for when each area will be ready for use.

02

Inspect & Measure

Accurate assessment for a surprise-free experience.

We measure every square metre and assess the timber's condition. Our team looks for wear patterns, sanding history, moisture risks, and structural details such as squeaks or gaps to ensure the best possible foundation for your new finish.

03

Quote & Schedule

Fixed pricing and clear timelines.

You'll receive a comprehensive quote detailing the prep, sanding sequence, and coating specifications. Once approved, we lock in your dates and provide a clear guide on cure times - so you know exactly when you can walk on your floors or move furniture back.

04

Site Preparation & Protection

Isolating the work zone for a clean result.

We treat your home with respect. This step involves protecting adjacent areas, completing minor timber repairs (like re-setting nails), and setting up our advanced dust extraction systems. A thorough vacuuming is performed before any sanding begins to ensure a pristine environment.

05

Precision Sanding

Masterful restoration of the timber grain.

Our technicians sand in stages, moving from coarse to fine grits (40 to 100-grit) to level the floor and remove old coatings. We use specialised equipment for edges and hard-to-reach areas, ensuring a perfectly flat, uniform surface ready to accept the new finish.

06

Sustainable Coating & Finishing

Applying high-performance, non-toxic protection.

We apply your chosen stain or tint followed by multiple coats of our premium, low-VOC, water-based polyurethane. We perform inter-coat buffing to ensure a smooth, durable finish. Our coatings are safe for your family and pets and dry quickly, so you can return to your space sooner.

07

After-Care & Maintenance

Preserving the beauty of your floors for the long term.

To keep your floors looking beautiful for years to come, we provide a tailored maintenance guide. This includes specific cleaning routines, advice on protective felt pads for furniture, and guidance on when to schedule a professional re-coat to maintain the timber's integrity.

The Choice

Polish or
replace?

Most floors don't need replacing - they need refinishing. Here's how to know which one fits your situation.

Full replacement

For structural or terminal damage

  • Deep cracks running through boards
  • Rot, structural movement, severe water damage
  • Boards already sanded too thin to refinish
  • You're moving from a different floor type entirely
Investment Significant - and disruptive
