Oak takes stain differently to walnut. Native Australian timbers like Spotted Gum and Ironbark resist sanding more than exotic hardwoods. Our process adapts to each - right grit, right pressure, right finish.

Sanding removes only a thin layer, preserving the existing wood and saving significantly compared to replacement. Plus: dust, dirt and allergens are lifted from every crevice, leaving a healthier home behind.

Loves stain, prone to UV-yellowing. Needs waterborne PU.

Stunning natural colour. Lighter sanding, clear coats.

Dense, hard. Aggressive grit, multi-pass finishing.

Teak / merbau / sapele

Oil-rich, specialised. Sealer barrier coat first.

Oak - open-grain, stain-friendly

Oak has the most open grain of any common hardwood, which means it accepts stain beautifully but also collects more dust and allergens over time. Our oak process leans heavily on the dust-free vacuum extraction during sanding, and we apply waterborne polyurethane to seal the grain without yellowing under UV.

Erwin was recommended  by Stephan Smith real estate being there carpenter.... and i was wanting to do it myself But thought I should get it done professionally I am very happy with the result I was onsight the whole time living down stairs, Seeing how they cross hatched With there sanding to get an even plain and finishing with 4 coats I was really pleased, They got the colouring of the putty so close you can't notice it in sections they also left me product so I could do my toilet out house, Get onto them if you want it done properly. The team at Enviro Floors go to a lot of trouble to get you to sign their comprehensive contract, best if you read it. I didn't...As to the finished product, it's stunning. We had Enviro Floors sand and polish our floors 13 years ago, they were in really bad shape then, some covered in tar as waterproofing, some covered in gloss paint. This time around it was a refinish - and they look amazing again. So, thanks to the team for another 13 years of trouble free, beautiful floors!
