1. Floor preparation. Before sanding, we make sure everything is prepped - hammering down nails, fixing damage to the wood, thorough cleaning by sweeping and vacuuming.
2. Sand away the old finish. Specialised belt sanders and edgers, with different grits of sandpaper depending on the condition and type of wood. Dust-minimising option for this stage.
3. Smooth things out. Once sanded to bare wood, finer sanding to remove rough marks left behind - progressively finer sandpaper for a perfectly smooth surface. Gaps filled with putty if needed.
4. Optional colour treatment. If you want to change the look, this is the time to add stain or pre-colour treatments. Requires a skilled touch - we have decades of staining expertise.
5. Waterborne coatings. High-quality, water-based polyurethane - ideal for Australian hardwood floors. Exceptional durability and significantly lower VOCs than traditional finishes.
