before damage sets in.
Recoating timber floors is essential for preserving their beauty and extending their life. Daily foot traffic, sunlight and general wear dull the surface and leave timber vulnerable to deeper damage.
We use non-toxic, water-based coatings - durable, low-VOC, and ideal for families and environmentally conscious homeowners. By recoating on schedule, you save on costly repairs or replacement later.

How often should timber floors be recoated?
To maintain durability and visual appeal, timber floors generally benefit from recoating every 3–5 years. The exact interval depends on foot traffic, sunlight exposure, and how well the floor has been maintained day-to-day. If you're unsure, give us a call and we'll come assess at no cost.
-
How long does the recoating process take?
The entire timber floor recoating treatment, including drying time between coats, typically takes 1–2 days depending on the size of the space and the number of coats applied. You can usually walk on the floors in socks within 5–6 hours of the final coat, and have furniture back in 48–72 hours.
-
Is the recoating process environmentally friendly?
Yes. We use eco-friendly, water-based timber floor coating products that are low in VOCs - safer for the environment, your indoor air quality, and your family. No solvent-based finishes, no harsh chemicals, no overnight stays elsewhere needed.
-
Do I need to move out during recoating?
No. Because we use low-odour, low-VOC water-based coatings, you can stay in your home throughout the process. We'll let you know which areas are off-limits and for how long, but most clients stay put through the entire job.
-
What's covered by the warranty?
Every recoat job comes with our five-year QBCC workmanship warranty in writing. We stand behind our work - if there's an issue with how the coat has been applied, we'll come back and put it right.
How much will

The Bay HandymanPosted on Google John ClarkTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fair warning - read your contract! The team at Enviro Floors go to a lot of trouble to get you to sign their comprehensive contract, best if you read it. I didn't...As to the finished product, it's stunning. We had Enviro Floors sand and polish our floors 13 years ago, they were in really bad shape then, some covered in tar as waterproofing, some covered in gloss paint. This time around it was a refinish - and they look amazing again. So, thanks to the team for another 13 years of trouble free, beautiful floors!Posted on Google Lori Bowe
