Using our low VOC (Toxic Volatile Compound) coating, there is no smell and maintenance is low meaning that the lifetime cost of product is reduced.

Timber decks look great sanded and coated with an outdoor coating. Remember though, that in our climate, oil is a high maintenance coating with a large carbon footprint which is not long lasting and needs frequent re-coating.

After testing many different products we believe that the Enviro Floors decking system we use, provides a long lasting tough, durable and lustrous finish that protects the wood longer than ordinary finishes. This is because it has been developed to withstand the severe weather extremes of our sub tropical climate.

The coating goes deep into the wood’s pores delivering superior adhesion to ensure maximum life and peel resistance, whilst the finish gives an attractive satin appearance. It resists moisture penetration and decay, providing exceptional UV protection against the suns harmful rays, thereby retarding the aging of wood.

Good timber decking looks stylish, blends well with the environment and suits traditional as well as contemporary architecture. It is a quality product that will last a lifetime and is therefore excellent value for money. It is easy to look after with our non toxic Enviro Floors coating.

New Timber Flooring

Wood flooring is the most abundantly renewable flooring material available. The trees used to make wood floors are produced in a factory called a forest by a renewable source of energy called the sun. Sustainable forest management makes it possible to harvest wood without any serious impact on the environment, because trees are a renewable resource that can be replaced time and time again.

  • A naturally hard surface will last for decades.

New Parquetry Floors

Installing parquetry block flooring is skill from the past giving you a wonderful looking floor. Who would have thought that the time honoured tradition of wood block parquet can actually produce significant savings to the cost of construction! Recognising that the longer the piece of wood or the wider the piece of wood the more you pay for it, parquet can generate savings over conventional Strip Flooring.

As the Australian Code of Practice now requires that no wood floor system can be installed over an “unventilated” sub floor, the practice of installing battens over concrete is now outlawed and replaced by the installation of minimum thickness 18mm thick exterior waterproof structural grade plywood (not cheap alternatives). This practice achieves significant technical advantage for any strip floor installation,.

The raw underside of the boards are not exposed to condensation (moisture) formed from the air, especially when radiant heat from sunlight streaming through glass window walls etc., causes “cupping” of boards, as the top surface should be well sealed with a minimum of three full flood coats of Enviro Floors coating system as the wear surface.

The avoidance of battens creates a very “quiet” solid floor without the traditional “drum” of foot traffic.

The avoidance of humid spaces is a positive with regard to termites. As a quality installation of Wood Block Parquet is directly bonded to the concrete sub floor with waterproof polyurethane Adhesives, parquet floors are extremely “quiet.

Specialist parquet producers have extremely close control over “moisture content” and “grading” of a wide range of local and exotics timber species.

Court line marking

This is a skill and precise science requiring accuracy to international standards.

Multi marking of hard-court areas provides an acceptable alternative to individual markings. The following information provides some guidelines and recommendations on how this may be achieved.

For a multi- sports hall a range of colours is required to avoid confusion. However, there are recognised colour schemes that are widely used. The general rule of operation is the faster the ball game the lighter the colour of the court marking.

There also must be an allowance for ‘run-off’ areas for different sports. It is important to ensure that the minimum space around the court is maintained for each individual sport. Any sport or local government attempting to save money by reducing court sizes is setting up the potential for future litigation. If space is limited, the governing body’s recommendations on run-offs should always prevail.

Colours recommended for light surfaces are white, black, red, yellow, green, dark blue, light blue, orange and yellow. Colours recommended for dark surfaces are white, yellow, red, light blue, light green and orange. As a rule of thumb, the most frequently used sport is marked out in white, the second most played sport in yellow, followed by blue and red.

Indoor Line Marking

The layout of court markings need to be considered carefully to avoid line markings being too close to each other or coinciding.

The paint must be tested and selected to suit the type of floor. Manufacturers will supply or
